I used to love brown and dark wood and now my taste has changed. I like whites and creams, and pretty shades of blue.
When we first moved in our house we needed a few little things. For example, a cheap little table. Well, this table wasn't cheap but it was the right size and worked with what we had.
BEFORE
OH...the brown
I found some whitish-gray (is that a word?) paint at the Re-Store and used it on the table. I think the name was Silverplain by Sherwin Williams.
I primed, painted and then distressed. I used a razor....yes, I said a razor to chip away at the paint and coated it with wax. I love how the white pops out under the gray!
AFTER
Slowly but surely, my house will no longer reek of brown!

very pretty! Great job.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Helen. I'm following you now too! Once the holidays are over I'm hoping I can get back to some painting soon!
ReplyDeleteI had the same idea about slowly changing all the browns and blacks to whites :) I love this little table. Cute!
ReplyDelete"The reek of brown" sounds like a bad nightmare, doesn't it? ;) Nice job on changing the table's personality!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your project at Potpourri Friday!
Paint is a wonderful thing ;) I like shades of white and blues too (as well as black painted and woods), and your little table is cute.
